Connecting Academic Learning With Professional Practice
Cohesion Phenomics supports the development of the next generation of professionals in genetics and molecular diagnostics through structured, practice-based learning within a clinical laboratory environment.
Educational experiences are designed to provide exposure to the scientific, clinical, operational, and healthcare-delivery dimensions of genetic testing.
Educational & Training Programs
Bridging academic preparation with hands-on immersion in clinical molecular diagnostics and genetic healthcare operations.
Shadowing & Laboratory Exposure
Students can gain exposure to clinical molecular laboratory workflows, including specimen processing, molecular testing, data analysis, quality systems, and reporting.
These experiences provide an opportunity to observe how molecular diagnostic testing is performed within a clinical laboratory environment.
Internships & Experiential Learning
Structured opportunities combine scientific learning with supervised laboratory and operational experience appropriate to each participant's educational level and background.
Experiences may include exposure to laboratory processes, documentation, genetic testing workflows, data management, and other activities involved in the delivery of clinical molecular testing.
Clinical Laboratory & Workforce Readiness
Participants develop practical knowledge of documentation, specimen tracking, quality practices, laboratory operations, and the interdisciplinary processes involved in delivering clinical genetic testing.
The objective is to connect academic knowledge with the expectations and responsibilities of a professional clinical laboratory environment.
Genetic Counseling Assistant Program
In partnership with Gardner-Webb University, Cohesion Phenomics provides experiential training for Genetic Counseling Assistant participants.
The program integrates clinical, laboratory, and operational aspects of genetic testing, including clinic preparation, specimen management, benefits and eligibility, prior authorization, molecular laboratory workflows, test analysis, and communication across patients, providers, laboratories, and payers.
Professional & Clinical Education
Cohesion Phenomics also participates in educational activities designed to strengthen understanding of cardiovascular genetics, molecular diagnostics, genetic testing, and the delivery and economics of genetic services.
Educational activities may be developed for healthcare professionals, students, trainees, academic programs, and professional organizations.
Building the Genetics Workforce
Our educational programs are intended to bridge academic learning and professional practice, providing participants with practical experience and a broader understanding of career pathways and healthcare delivery within genetics and molecular diagnostics.
Clinical & Scientific Collaborations
Opportunities to Collaborate
Cohesion Phenomics welcomes opportunities to collaborate with healthcare organizations, laboratories, industry partners, academic institutions, and professional organizations in areas that align with our expertise in cardiovascular genetics and molecular diagnostics.
Potential areas of collaboration may include clinical and translational initiatives, genetics research, evidence development, provider education, market access, and projects that advance the integration of genetic testing into cardiovascular care.
Please Note: Clinical and Scientific Collaborations are presented as opportunities for partnership and development and are not intended to represent a separate established Medical Affairs service.
